Anyone who loves animals and heartwarming stories will love this book. Holland has collected 47 unique tales of inter-species friendships in the animal kingdom. Awwww-inducing photographs accompany each unlikely pairing along with stories of the circumstances behind each relationship. It is touching to read about the bonds that can be formed between species and to believe that animals can show compassion, loneliness, grief, and dare I say love with another.
This book is a little treasure! It's sweet and charming while being interesting and informative. In addition to my own copy, I'm buying more copies for friends and family members, of all ages. The reaction from people who viewed it so far is extremely enthusiastic, so I'll no doubt end up ordering even more. I am even already hoping there will be a sequel, or at least something along these lines.
ReplyDeleteI agree, this is a great book for gift giving! Holland just released easy to read versions of the original stories called "Unlikely Friendships for Kids." Now the wonderful and adorable friendships can be shared with kids on their reading level.
